This is for all the people out there that don’t think you can build muscle and increase mass as a Vegan. Baboumian is a 2012 European Powerlifting Champion, World record breaker in three strongman events, World record breaker for log lift for under 105kg, European Open title winner in 2012, and set personal bests of Bench 210kg, Squat 360kg, Deadlift 360kg. Baboumian has a lengthy list of accomplishments in international strongman competitions and powerligting competitions and on becoming vegan has said “ I just found myself thinking that if I would have to kill the animals I ate with my own hands I couldn’t because I was too compassionate. I felt that I was fooling myself eating meat considering my inability to kill an animal so I just thought I’d better be honest to myself and stop eating meat.” Some more of his records can be found below.

She is and for years has been one of the most outspoken celebrities of the benefits of being Vegan.
Wow, file this under take your breath away. I honestly think KFC would have been the last of the fast food giants to offer a vegan product. I guess that has more to do with the spotlight on the burgers and ground meat these days than anything but why not KFC? Your claim to fame is your top secret fried recipe right? So put that to the test on some vegan wings and let’s see how it stands up. I have been somewhat reluctant to try the Impossible Whopper for whatever reason but now more than I ever I want to get a gigantic bucket of these KFC Beyond Meat wings and eat them all night long with a plate full of various condiments. Great news for the vegan community, now book your flight and make sure they sell out so they can launch these nationwide and bring that finger lickin’ goodness to KFC’s close to home.
I applaud Andrew Luck for his recent decision to retire; it takes a lot of guts to do what he did and not only face the backlash from fans and the media but to leave tens of millions of dollars on the table between salary and endorsements. I also applauded Calvin Johnson when he made the same decision back in 2016, granted I am a Lions fan so it was devastating but NFL players take an absolute beating that no human could ever understand. Week in and week out they are pummeled and the injuries both reported and un-reported mount up. The damage to one’s body during a full 16+ week season is something humans were not made to endure and those injuries as are well documented don’t ever leave you. So if someone who has made lots of money and saved enough to provide for their family for generations to come wants to call it quits then all the power to you, do it. Get out while you can. To be honest I am surprised that it doesn’t happen more frequently. The one thing that kind of rubbed me the wrong way though was that initial reports claimed he was “mentally exhausted”. I would have much rather he came out and said his body was beginning to breakdown or that he wanted to spend more time with his family which are both valid reasons. “Mentally exhausted” seems like an excuse to me, who isn’t mentally exhausted? Do you think the average American working 70 hours a week to make ends meet raising multiple children sometimes by themselves isn’t mentally exhausted? What they don’t have is the luxury to just quit, they aren’t multi-millionaires and they need to put food on the table so they can’t stroll into work today and be all “Sorry Boss, I’m out…and by the way can you send me my signing bonus by the end of next week!”. So I think the way the news came out was a little selfish which is why you are seeing members of the media jump at him when his real reasons are just and right. I wish Luck only the best of Luck (sorry it’s impossible to avoid that) and have a feeling we aren’t seeing the last of him.
My wife and I recently threw a 1st birthday party for our daughter and obviously as vegans everything there was vegan. You name it and it was vegan. We had a meat and cheese plate, we had cake, we had cupcakes, we had candy, we ordered pizza, we had stuffed olives, literally we had a huge spread of food for our guests and all of it was vegan without them knowing or us advertising it. It’s funny because we received so many compliments throughout the party from both kids and parents and living in Chicago when you receive compliments about pizza you know people really liked it. We had a buffalo "chicken" pizza, a Philly "cheese steak", and a "pepperoni" and still people couldn't believe how good it was. I think this speaks to the quality of the vegan food that is available these days, the market has been flooded with products and continues to be flooded with products but all of it is quality. It is not only about the products, though, it is also the restaurants and the people preparing the food. The vegan community is on a mission to prove that the food we eat is as good if not better and the love they put into it transfers to your plate. I would imagine as we move along and veganism continues to grow companies are going to push less than quality products in an attempt to catch a piece of the profits but the products out there right now are top notch. I can’t wait to continue to dupe people and blow their minds as to how good the vegan community has it and we aren’t “just eating salads”.

Most notably known for his role as Tyrion Lannister, Dinklage is an incredibly talented who has been both nominated (61) and won (14) numerous awards for his roles across both TV and Film. Most notably Dinklage has been nominated for seven Primetime Emmy Awards and 14 Screen Actor Guild Awards, winning three Primetime Emmy Awards, a Screen Actor Guild Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Peter was vegetarian for over fifteen years and has recently become vegan, fronting campaigns for Farm Sanctuary, Peta and he is also an ambassador for Cruelty Free International. Hats off and keep up the good work both on and off the screen.
How many true 3 down Pro Bowl backs are there in the NFL these days? I bet you can count them on one hand Zeke, Saquon, Johnson, and Gordon (maybe Bell but let’s wait on that call). I don’t include McCaffrey only because Carolina splits him out more than most other backs and you have a few others who have the potential to make this list like Chubb and Mixon but they are not on the same level as the top 5 and Gurley has seen his workhorse days numbered. So there you have it that is a rare breed of running back right there. There can be an argument made that today’s NFL is a pass happy league with more spread formations but make no bones about it those guys I mentioned are irreplaceable. I don’t care how much you like your backup or the guy you just drafted there are only 1 of those guys and they are incredibly important to your success not to mention the role they play when the ball is not in their hands. I think people discount the attention they garner when they don’t have the ball, presence alone requires defensive scheming. In 4 years Gordon has been to 2 Pro Bowls, finished in the top 10 in TD’s 3 times, has had 2 seasons in the top 10 in yards from scrimmage, and has been in the top 10 in the NFL in touches 2 times. All of those numbers include games misses so the totals and ranks would have been higher. So how are you going to replace that? You can’t. Gordon signed a 4 yr(s) / $10,669,773 deal in 2015 and is due to be a free agent next year. He has been your workhorse, a face of your franchise, an integral part of your success, and at 26 years old deserves to be one of the highest paid running backs in the NFL, get it done.

I understand there are online options (www.mylkguys.com) if you want to shop for only vegan products but when is someone going to open a walk in vegan only grocery store or have you ever seen one (apparently there are some In Japan)? I doubt there are any in the states yet but possibly abroad. The influx of vegan options to the market is outrageous these days, I used to be able to go to my little corner of the grocery store and pick my go to vegan options but now I can’t even try everything that is coming out and every single day more and more shows up. Obviously it’s great but I also want to try them all and at this point that it is nearly impossible. Also who has time to be checking labels and ingredients I want to walk in a store and have that time back to me as I purchase one of everything. I also want all of these products and companies consolidated; it is frustrating today to have to go to one spot to get my Tofutti and Uptons from one grocer and then drive a few miles away to get my Oatly, JUST egg, and Miyokos. I am the lucky one too; I live in a major city so I have tons of options between Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Marianos. My wish and dream is to have a 1 stop shop where I can stock up and move forward with my day.
For most of you no one cared about the Tigers game last night for one the Tigers are the worst team in the majors and are on pace to have one of their worst seasons ever. As a cherry on top they had lost 8 out of their last 10 games. To make things even worse for Detroit Justin Verlander was on the mound and had struck out 10 or more batters in six straight starts. Since we are just piling on the insults to the Tigers the Astros have 43 more wins on the season and the Tigers are 34 games out of first place in their division while the Astros are a favorite to win the World Series. Well obviously Vegas knew all of this and set the odds accordingly. Houston was a -600 favorite which means you need to be $600 to make $100. Why would anyone even want to do that? Easy money I guess. The funny thing is for the most part the game went according to plan Verlander threw a complete game 2 hit 11 strikeout game; the only downfall was those 2 hits were home runs and the Tigers ended up using 4 different pitchers to limit the Astros to 1 run. Many people are calling it the biggest upset, at least from an odds perspective, since 2005. The true winner here was Vegas, although the Tigers have a solid claim to fame now, apparently at one sports book there was a $55,000 bet on Houston at -550 and a $63,520 bet on Houston at -575 all people looking make some “easy money”, Ha how’d that go for you? That book ended up making well over 6 figures.
