How do the people who make these laws know what a voiceless being wants? Do you think if the animals had a say in this they would choose to be abused and slaughtered? At one point in history slaves had laws to protect them even though it was legal to own them. Legal does not equal Moral.
I am a vegan, healthy, and strong therefore I am your evidence this is not true. It has been proven by science, tests, evidence, and the top doctors on the globe that a diet without meat and dairy is not only healthy and provides all the necessary vitamins and nutrients to survive but is better for your health and survival than one consisting of meat. In other societies in the world it is “natural” to eat other human beings but does that mean it’s moral to do so?
Our ancestors did a lot that we have since stopped doing. Keeping slaves for instance, or throwing fecal matter into the street, or killing people in the streets over religious beliefs. Saying our ancestors did something so we have to do the same is an illogical argument.
Food chains help maintain natural ecosystems and are a perfect balance of death and life. Artificially breeding, enslaving, exploiting, slaughtering, and mutilating animals have nothing to do with a food chain.
Only when you’re not the victim right? Would a human say this when an animal attacked and killed another human? Just because we CAN doesn’t mean we should. Should the young steal from the elderly?
Lions eat other animals purely out of survival and they would die without it. They also have the teeth and stomach that can crush and digest bones and other animal parts. Humans can’t do that and do not need meat to survive just like one of our closest relatives the gorilla. Compare our teeth to a meat eating animals, ours are naturally made for plants and roots not raw meat and bones.
